Morgan City High School graduate Jonathan Spinella, left, won the Morgan City U.S. Bowling Congress Bowling Association's Scholarship. Spinella had a 4.0 grade point average. On the lanes, he had a high average of 214 as a senior with a high game of 298 and a high series of 692. He was part of the Morgan City High School District 3 bowling championship and a first-team all-district bowler as a senior, along with earning academic all-state honors. Spinella wins bowling association scholarship

Morgan City High School senior Jonathan Spinella was presented the Morgan City U.S.

Morgan City (top photo) and St. Mary Central (above) 7- and-8-year-old All-Stars competed in the District 3-AA Tournament at the Bayou Vista Community Center this weekend. Morgan City finished the tournament 1-2, while St. Mary Central was 0-3. Franklin won the tournament, while Thibodaux was runner-up. Morgan City All-Stars finish 1-2 at District 3-AA Tournament

The Morgan City 7-and-8-year-old All-Stars finished 1-2 at the District 3 AA Tournament at the Bayou Vista Community Center this weekend.

The Patterson 8U All-Stars won the Cal Ripken 8-year-old Machine Pitch--National state title Sunday at Kemper Williams Park near Patterson. The team now will continue postseaosn play at the Cal Ripken Southwest Region Tournament, which will be held in Mobile, Alabama, beginning July 12. The Patterson 8U All-Stars won the Cal Ripken 8-year-old Machine Pitch National state title Sunday at Kemper Williams Park near Patterson, topping St. Charles 4-3.
