Area youth win Biddy Basketball 3-on-3 tournament

The Atchalaya Golf Association held its Match Play Tournament this past weekend at The Atchafalaya at Idlewild near Patterson. The event featured nine-hole matches, which began Friday. Each golfer was placed in a pool with three other competitors and played a nine-hole match against each, with two golfers advancing. Players continued in single-elimination match play. TJ Banks, right in the top photo, won the event, while DJ Jackson was runner-up. Tournament official David Burch congratulates both. Patterson's Singleton, Fabre sign with Southwest Tennessee Community College

Former Patterson baseball standouts Joel Singleton and Jamey Fabre set their sights on baseball scholarships as freshmen.

The St. Mary Golf and Country Club in Berwick held an awards banquet Sunday following its first season of the St. Mary Junior Golf Tour. Four events were held this summer at The Atchafalaya at Idlewild near Patterson, St. Mary Golf and Country Club in Berwick and The Belleview Golf & Country Club in Franklin.The tour included three divisions: high school boys, high school girls and 10U.
