MC 9s baseball roundup

The Morgan City 9-year-old All-Stars won the District 3 championship in Thibodaux Monday night.
In recording a 3-0 mark in the tournament, Morgan City outscored its opponents, 56-23.
In game one Saturday, Morgan City defeated Franklin, 19-7.
Lucas Pickens earned the win on the mound.
Offensively, Bryan Cordero led Morgan City with a 3-for-3 performance with six RBIs. Other top Morgan City offensive contributors included Chaz’ Pickens, 2-for-3 with two RBIs; Conner Daigle and Jamyre Bias, each 1-for-1 with an RBI; Ja’Kavior Kemp, 1-for-2 with two RBIs; Jackman Lind, 1-for-3 with three RBIs; Lucas Pickens, 1-for-3 with an RBI; Landyn Ramagos and Kade Gagliano, each 1-for-2 with an RBI; and Franco Saleme, 1-for-3.
In game two Sunday, Morgan City defeated Thibodaux, 17-6.
Chaz’ Pickens earned the win on the mound.
Offensively, Tate Fontenot and Lind led Morgan City as each finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Other top Morgan City offensive contributors included Kemp, who finished 2-for-2; Ramagos and Bias, each 1-for-3 with two RBIs; Zha’Kel Roberson, 1-for-2 with an RBI; Chaz’ Pickens and Daigle, each 1-for-3 with an RBI; and Lucas Pickens and Gagliano, each 1-for-3.
In the championship game Monday, Morgan City defeated Franklin, 20-10.
Cordero earned the win on the mound.
Offensively, Lucas Pickens led Morgan City with a 2-for-3 performance with six RBIs. Other top Morgan City offensive contributors included Ramagos and Bias, each 2-for-3 with two RBIs; Chaz’ Pickens, 1-for-3 with two RBIs; Cordero, 1-for-4 with three RBIs; Kemp, Fontenot and Gagliano, each 1-for-2 with an RBI; and Saleme, 1-for-1 with two RBIs.
Morgan City will return to action Friday when it begins play in the 9-year-old state tournament in Vidalia.
