Berwick falls to E.D. White 52-33

The Berwick Panthers fell to E.D. White 52-33 in District 9-3A action in Berwick Tuesday.
While Berwick led 9-8 after the first quarter, a 19-2 run by E.D. White in the second quarter helped the Cardinals take control for a 27-11 halftime lead. E.D. White extended its lead to 42-22 after three quarters before Berwick outscored the visitors 11-10 in the final period.
Blain Louviere led Berwick with 15 points, while Dayton Clark scored 13. Other Berwick scorers were Brannan Chasson, three, and Keyon Singleton, two.
Berwick (4-16 overall, 0-4 in district) will conclude its season on the road Friday when it plays its district finale at Donaldsonville.
CCHS cruises
past Hanson
The Central Catholic Eagles rolled past Hanson Memorial 80-23 in District 8-1A action in Franklin Tuesday.
Central Catholic led 27-10 after a quarter, took a 50-18 lead at halftime and extended its lead to 67-23 after three quarters.
Taylor Blanchard led three Eagles in double figures with 23 points. Other Central Catholic scorers were as follows: Tyler Smith, 13; D.J. Lewis, 10; Nylan Grogan and Damondrick Blackburn, eight each; Kye Morgel, seven; Vernon Singleton, five; Davidyione Bias, three; Michael-Anthony Hill, two; and Dominick Case, one.
Central Catholic (16-11, 7-0) will return to action Friday when it travels to face Covenant Christian in a district contest.
Morgan City falls
to Assumption
The Morgan City Tigers fell to Assumption 63-44 in District 8-4A action on the road Tuesday.
The Tigers fell in a big hole early as they were down 23-0 after the first quarter. Assumption took a 37-9 lead at halftime, and Morgan City cut its deficit to 50-25 after three quarters.
Nylan Francis led Morgan City with 16 points. Other Morgan City scorers were as follows: Shemar Naverre, nine; Elijah Singleton, five; Hilton Hebert, six; Jamal Francois and Tyland Boatman, three each; and Logan Linston, two.
Morgan City (7-19, 0-7) will return to action Thursday when it hosts South Lafourche at home in district play. The game was moved up from Friday and will begin at 7 p.m.
Patterson routs
St. James
The Patterson Lumberjacks routed St. James 77-39 on the road Tuesday in District 9-3A action.
No individual stats were available.
Patterson (20-10, 4-0) will return to action Friday when it hosts Lutcher in league play.
Hanson upsets
Lady Eagles
The Central Catholic Lady Eagles were upset by Hanson Memorial 51-46 in District 8-1A action in Franklin Tuesday.
Central Catholic entered the game ranked No. 7 in the latest unofficial Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division IV rankings, while Hanson Memorial is No. 13.
No individual stats were submitted.
Central Catholic (14-10, 4-5) will close its regular season Friday when it travels to face Covenant Christian in league play.
Assumption defeats
Lady Tigers
The Morgan City Lady Tigers fell to Assumption 71-16 in District 8-4A action in Napoleonville Tuesday.
No individual stats were available.
Morgan City (9-19, 0-9) will return to action Thursday when it hosts South Lafourche in a 6 p.m. contest.
