A river level gauge shows the water height Thursday evening on the Berwick side of the Atchafalaya River. As of 6 a.m. Friday, the river was at 5.92 feet and forecasted to hit the 6-foot flood stage by 7 p.m. The National Weather Service predicts the Atchafalaya will crest near 7 feet May 27.
