Henry crowned AARP Mother's Day Queen

St. Mary AARP Chapter 4435 held its monthly meeting on May 1 at the St. Mary Senior Citizen Center, home of St. Mary AARP, in Morgan City.

Bayou Vista Garden Club announced its numerous awards earned at the Louisiana Garden Club Federation Convention and the Deep South Region Convention. Southern gardens topic of April BVGC meeting

During Bayou Vista Garden Club’s April meeting, member Annita Blanco provided brochures and shared pictures of the Southern gardens that she has visited.

Guest speaker for the Patterson Garden Club March 21 meeting was Luke Bienvenu. He discussed beekeeping. Club Secretary Sharon Larson presented him with a gift of appreciation.

St. Mary Parish AARP Chapter 4435 held its monthly meeting March 6 at the St. Mary Senior Citizens Center, home of St. Mary AARP, in Morgan City.

Gloria Roy presented a program on container gardening at the Bayou Vista Garden Club March meeting. The club’s vice president created a topsy-turvy garden by stacking pots at angles on a post and filling each with a variety of plants.
