CCHS qualifies competitors in six events for state track and field meet

The Central Catholic track and field teams qualified competitors in six events for state competition during the Region II-1A meet at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette April 24.

A Berwick High School base runner slides into second base during the Panthers' 13-1 win against Jennings High School in Class 3A regional round action Saturday at Berwick. Berwick, Class 3A's No. 4 seed, dominated the series with No. 13 Jennings, winning both games by run-rules. The Panthers will continue postseason play Friday and Saturday when they host No. 5 Erath in a best-of-three quarterfinal series.
