MCHS Lady Tiger Bowling team wins district title
The Morgan City High School Lady Tiger bowling team defeated Central Catholic 20-7 at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City Wednesday to capture the district championship.
Juliet Thibodeaux led Morgan City (9-3 overall, 4-0 in district) with a 584 series (190, 214, 180), while MacKenzie Amador had a 548 series (168, 187, 193). Kameron Patureau added a 506 series (170, 165, 171).
Emily Price led Central Catholic with a 461 series (160, 150, 151). Other top Central Catholic bowlers were Jolie Boudreaux (151, 150), Julianna Hernandez (157) and Ashley Daigle (155).
Monday, Morgan City fell 14-13 to South Terrebonne at Creole Lanes in Houma.
Amador led Morgan City with a 515 series (171, 168, 176), while Thibodaux recorded a 491 series (158, 178, 155). Other top Morgan City bowlers were Aymie Pearce with a 161 game and Patureau with a 157 contest.
Also Monday, the Central Catholic Lady Eagles fell to Central Lafourche 18.5-8.5 at Creole Lanes in Houma.
Hernandez led Central Catholic with a 494 series (168, 178), while Marina Duval had a 463 series (171, 167). Other Central Catholic bowlers were Price with a 458 series (158, 162) and Boudreaux, a 164 game.
Central Catholic and Morgan City will advance to the girls bracket playoffs, which will be held March 28 in Baton Rouge. Playoff pairings will be announced Monday.
