Area teams victorious on baseball diamond
The Berwick Panthers run-ruled Central Lafourche 13-3 in five innings in nondistrict action at Berwick High Tuesday.
Dayton Clark led Berwick’s offense with a 2-for-3 performance with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Other top Berwick offensive contributors were as follows: Eric Guillot, 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and a run scored; Evan Thomas, 2-for-3, two RBIs, a stolen base and a run scored; Ryan Domingue, 2-for-3, an RBI and two runs scored; Seth Canty, 1-for-3, an RBI and a run scored; Clay Menard, an RBI and two runs scored; and Landon Harris, an RBI and a run scored.
Canty earned the win. In five innings, he surrendered three runs — two earned — on eight hits and fanned five.
Patterson routs Franklin
The Patterson Lumberjacks routed Franklin 14-3 in Franklin Tuesday.
Dylan Fabre, Allen Everitt and Roy Jones combined to throw a two-hitter in the win. Fabre earned the win. In three innings, he surrendered two runs — two earned — on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Everitt pitched three innings of relief and surrendered an unearned run, two walks and fanned four. Jones pitched an inning and hit one batter and struck out two.
Offensively, Patterson collected 14 hits.
Top Patterson offensive contributors were as follows: Josiah Jennings, 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored; Reid Perkins, 3-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored; Randy Paul, 2-for-5, two doubles, four RBIs and two runs scored; Don Diaz, 2-for-2, a double and four RBIs; Julius Albert, 1-for-3, an RBI; and Kaden Samuels, 1-for-4, an RBI and a run scored.
Monday, Patterson fell to New Iberia 11-1 in six innings at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Patterson was limited to one hit by Joseph Larson. Larson finished the game 1-for-3.
Perkins suffered the loss. In five innings, he surrendered seven runs — three earned — on five hits with two walks, one hit batter and five strikeouts.
CCHS defeats Westgate
The Central Catholic Eagles defeated Westgate 2-0 on the road Tuesday.
Nathan Hebb and Caleb Menina led Central Catholic’s offense. Hebb finished 1-for-3 with a solo home run, an RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored, while Menina was 2-for-3 with a double. Ryan Miller added a 1-for-3 day with an RBI.
Grant Stansbury earned the win. In seven innings, he surrendered seven hits, on walk and fanned eight.
MCHS beats Comeaux
The Morgan City Tigers defeated Comeaux 2-1 Monday on the road.
Chris Pitre earned the win. In 6.2 innings, he surrendered one earned run on five hits with three walks and eight strikeouts.
Logan Metrejean earned the save. In 0.1 innings, he surrendered a hit.
Hayden Barron led Morgan City with a 1-for-2 performance with a double, an RBI and a run scored, while Will LaRocca finished 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Morgan City (4-5) will return to action in Central Catholic’s tournament, beginning Thursday with a 7:45 p.m. game against Covenant Christian Academy at Tiger Diamond.
