Francois' buzzer beater lifts MCHS to 62-60 victory

Morgan City High School’s Kerwin Francois stole the basketball and converted a layup at the buzzer to lift the Tigers to a 62-60 victory against New Iberia in Morgan City Tuesday.

Former Berwick High School standout Travis Whitehead signed a national letter of intent to play college basketball for two years at Delgado Community College in New Orleans Friday at Berwick High School. In addition to friends, family and well wishers, those present were, Kasey Whitehead, stepmom; Ara Whitehead, grandmother; Barbara Bailey, grandmother; Tracy Bailey, mother; Edward Woods, brother; and Cherica Bailey-Harvey, aunt.
