Berwick eliminates Patterson in two games

Berwick overpowered Patterson late in both games of the Class 3A, best-of-three, regional round playoff series in Berwick to advance to its first quarterfinal since the 2007 season.

Berwick and Patterson high schools will meet in a best two-out-of-three series in the Class 3A Regional round Friday and Saturday in Berwick. District 8-3A rivals Berwick and Patterson split their regular season contests.

Berwick's Tysin Meads signs with Millsaps College

Berwick High School basketball player Tysin Meads signed with Millsaps College Tuesday to continue his playing career.

Berwick High School's Andrew Askew is greeted at home plate by teammates after hitting a solo home run in the second inning of Monday's 16-2 Class 3A firstround playoff win against Albany. Askew finished the game 2-for-2 with a home run, three RBIs, two stolen bases and two runs. Berwick, Class 3A's No. 3 seed, now will await its next opponent, which it will face in a best-two-out-of-three series this weekend. Berwick uses 11-run 4th inning to rout Albany, 16-2

Berwick High School used a huge fourth inning to take command of Monday’s Class 3A Bi-District Round playoff game en route to a 16-2 victory against Albany High School.
