In Louisiana, we celebrate Arbor Day each year on the third Friday in January. Arbor Day is when we take time to plant trees and appreciate the benefits that trees provide for us.
Family of the late Levy “Buddy” Roy gathered Dec. 29 as a tree was planted in his memory during the Patterson Garden Club Arbor Day ceremony. The Magnolia was planted at the site of the former Roy’s Supermarket which is now part of the property where the new Patterson Junior High School is located.
Patterson Garden Club held an early Arbor Day ceremony on Dec. 29, 2018.
