VOLLEYBALL: Local teams face off over the weekend

The Morgan City volleyball team split its two games played this past weekend.
Against Central Catholic the Lady Tigers lost 3-0 (14-25, 21-25, 20-25) with Katelyn Adams leading the team with eight assists, seven digs, three kills and two aces; Brooke Singleton had eight digs, five assists, four kills, a block and an ace; Brittney Durham had 10 digs and an ace; Reina Fernandez had six digs, two kills and two assists; Kailyn Turner had two blocks, two block assists and a kill; Jaiveianna Jones had three kills, two blocks and a block assist; Marilynn Bailey had four kills, three block assists and an assist; Savannah Loupe had three digs; and Allie Dragna had three digs.
In the second game of the weekend, the Lady Tigers beat Thibodaux 3-1 (25-14, 25-21, 20-25, 25-14).
Fernandez had 15 digs, five kills and two aces; Adams had five aces, 17 assists, six kills, seven digs, one block and a block assist; Singleton had 13 assists, 14 kills, two blocks, two block assists, five digs and five aces; Durham had 15 digs and four aces; Loupe had three digs and two aces; Kloe’ Liner had a dig, a kill and a block assist; Jones had two kill and a block assists; Bailey had three kills, two digs, an assists, a block and a block assist; Turner had two block assists and a kill; and Dragna had six digs.

Lumberjills fall in district play

The Patterson volleyball team continued district play on Thursday with a 3-0 loss (25-6, 25-10, 25-7) to E.D. White

Rebecca Taylor led the team with two digs and Kaylan Fontenot had two digs and an assist.
The junior varsity also lost to the Lady Cardinals 2-0 (25-10, 25-11).
Courtnie Boudreaux led the team with two kills and Tye Williams had two aces and a kill.
On Monday, the Lumberjills took on the first-year program from Centerville and won, 3-0 (25-6, 25-10, 25-13).
Chynna Williams led the team with seven kills and four aces; Caitlyn Fontenot had seven aces, a kill, a dig, and an assist; Carissa Fontenot had six assists and an ace; Kaylan Johnson had two aces, two assists and a kill; Keisha Kinchen had a kill; Katelyn Sonnier had four aces and a kill; Kasey Stratton had an ace; Jessica Decuir had a kill; and Rachel Easely had a kill.
The Lumberjills junior varsity lost to Centerville 2-1 (10-25, 25-17, 5-15) with Nia Madise leading the team with four assists, Jazmin Evans had 11 assists, Thibodeaux had four assists and two aces, and Boudreaux had two kills.
