Verdunville, Centerville summer program set

Verdunville Concerned Citizens Organization is offering a six week summer enrichment program for the Verdunville and Centerville community.

Kids age five to 15 can participant in activities and programs that will focus on the following subjects: Literacy development, character building, music appreciation, physical exercise and promoting family learning environments. The program will be located at the St. Mary Parish Alternative School, 131 Clausen Rd, Verdunville. The program will operate from June 11 through July 20 from 8 a.m. to noon.

The program will feature structured classroom settings and include enrichment and physical development. Participants will receive a nutritional breakfast and lunch. No transportation will be provided. The program has a limited number of slots for participants, and will be filled on a first come first served basis.

Applications may be obtained Thursday, June 7 and Friday, June 8 from the Little Zion Community Outreach Center located at 7814 La. 182, Verdunville, or from board members Ulysses Knight, Addie Bogan and Wendell Bogan.

The program is sponsored by the St. Mary Parish Council, Recreation District No. 7 and St. Mary Community Action Agency, Inc.
