Two arrested in alleged meth lab operation in BV
Narcotics agents arrested two people on multiple charges Monday.
Multi-jurisdictional Drug Task Force members reported the arrest of Jason Olivier, 29, of 505 Saturn Road, Bayou Vista, and Amanda Smith, 30, of Gibson, at 1:09 p.m.
Olivier was charged with operation of a clandestine lab, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, possession of drug paraphernalia, and warrants charging him with aggravated burglary and probation violation.
Smith was charged with operation of a clandestine lab, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile.
Agents received a tip that Olivier was staying in a hotel in the Bayou Vista area, and had a warrant for his arrest. When arresting him at the hotel, Smith was with him, officials say. They reportedly found methamphetamine, paraphernalia and a methamphetamine lab along with the chemicals for the manufacture of the drug.
No bonds were set.
In unrelated arrests, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the arrest of Tasha L. Lombas, 35, of 180 Cane Road, Franklin, Monday at 8:20 a.m. on a warrant charging her with issuing worthless checks. She was released on a summons.
Keith Carter, 39, of 10621 La. 182, Franklin, was arrested Monday at 11:11 a.m. on a warrant charging him with issuing worthless checks. He was released on a summons.
Daryan Parvino, 18, of 174 Burchfield Lane, Berwick, was arrested Monday at 2:12 p.m. on warrants charging him with failure to appear on charges of theft of goods. No bond was set.
Travis Romero, 22, of 408 Saturn Road, Bayou Vista, was arrested today at 12:51 a.m. on charges of simple battery and resisting an officer. He was held on a $1,500 bond.
Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the arrest of Marshall Dwayne Bell Jr., 33, of Easy Street, Franklin, Monday at 11:02 a.m. on warrants charging him with failure to appear for Third Ward Court and district court. He was held on $8,141 in total bonds.
Damien Jones, 39, of Fox Lane, Franklin, was arrested Monday at 10:03 p.m. on a charge of simple burglary of a business, and Iberia Parish warrants charging him with two counts of failure to appear, as well as a failure to appear warrant from East Baton Rouge Parish on a charge of possession of stolen things. No bond was set.
