Ticket deadline nears for Morgan City festival
MORGAN CITY, La. — The Morgan City Main Street Atchafalaya Art and Food Festival will be Saturday. Ticket sales end Wednesday.
Anyone wishing to eat must have a ticket in order to participate in the food crawl. One ticket allows one person to sample a small dish from each of the five downtown restaurants. Latin Corner will be serving shrimp and grits, while Cafe JoJo’s will offer shrimp and penne pasta. Rita Mae’s will offer chicken and sausage jambalaya, Cafe Flomingo has seafood stuffed beignets, and Sweet & Simple Cupcakes and Cakes will offer a cupcake of choice.
Tickets are available at City Hall, each of the restaurants, Wildflower Boutique, The Bird’s Nest, The Frame Shop and from Main Street board members at a charge of $20 each.
While following the suggested route, patrons will be able to peruse the offerings by artists who will be both displaying and selling their wares. Meanwhile, Bridge Market vendors will be set up at Lawrence Park.
The food crawl and art walk take place from 4 to 6 p.m., while a Party in the Park featuring Tommy G and Stormy Weather will follow from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lawrence Park. Downtown merchants will be offering specials, discounts and door prizes during the food crawl and art walk as well.
The Party in the Park is a free event hosted by Main Street. Main Street will be selling drinks and shirts.
