Tests required for some prospective public school students
Nonpublic and home school students in grades four and eight who may be planning to attend public school must register to take the LEAP test.
In order to enroll in fifth or ninth grade, a student must score at least Basic on either the ELA or mathematics portion of the LEAP and at least Approaching Basic on the other portion.
In order to register your child to take the LEAP test, contact the public school in your attendance zone. Your child will be scheduled to take the test with the other fourth or eighth graders at the school. Testing will be done in two phases this year, and it is mandatory each student attends both phases.
Phase I testing will take place March 20 and will be comprised of the written composition and mathematics constructed response items. All other portions of the test will be completed in phase II testing April 12-17. All dates are mandatory.
Contact the appropriate school as soon as possible so arrangements for testing can be made.
Home-school students in grades three, five, six and seven are eligible to take the iLEAP test. The dates for iLEAP testing are April 12-17. Contact the public school in your attendance zone to schedule your child for testing.
