Teens arrested for fighting at park
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
—Taylor Brown, 17, of Mike Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 10:57 a.m. Wednesday on a warrant for disturbing the peace by fighting. A deputy located Brown at his residence on the warrant.
—A juvenile male, 16, of Superior Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 2:46 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for disturbing the peace by fighting. After learning of the warrant for his arrest, the juvenile and his guardian came into the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Morgan City.
Both of the warrants stem from an investigation into a fight at Central Park in Bayou Vista. The sheriff’s office received the report of a fight on May 26. The investigating deputy determined that Brown and the juvenile male were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into a fight. Brown was taken to the parish jail and held. He was released on $250 bail. The juvenile male was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Monica Brown, 31, of Fifth Street in Berwick, was arrested at 11:16 p.m. Wednesday for hit and run and improper backing with a crash. Brown was released on $1,250 bail.
Morgan City Police Chief Travis Crouch reported no arrests.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported no arrests.
