Task Force makes three major drug busts Wed.

Multi-jurisdictional Drug Task Force members made three significant drug arrests Wednesday.

The task force reported the arrest of Jonathan Ha, 39, of 345 Southeast Blvd., Bayou Vista, Wednesday at 5:43 p.m. on charges of possession of synthetic marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and abuse of toxic vapors.

Agents executed a search warrant at Long’s Bayou Food Mart in Bayou Vista on suspicion of illegal sales of synthetic marijuana from the business. They reportedly located a large amount of the material and paraphernalia. The drugs had a street value of about $14,000.

Agents also seized $980 in cash. Ha was released on a summons.

In another bust, Johnny Campbell, 51, of 101 Cane St., Bayou Vista, was arrested Wednesday at 7:36 p.m. on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses and possession of a firearm in the presence of narcotics.

Agents executed a search warrant at the Cane Street residence and reportedly located the marijuana, paraphernalia, packaging material, a handgun and $1,124 in cash. The marijuana was estimated at $5,200 instreet value. No bond was set.

The task force also reported the arrests of Lee P. Pierce, 28, of 1015 Third St., No. 15, Morgan City, Wednesday at 1:06 p.m. on charges of possession of synthetic marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and abuse of toxic vapors. He was released on a summons.

Christian Nicole Arceneaux, 24, of 1901 Rose St., Berwick, was arrested Wednesday at 1:32 p.m. on charges of possession of synthetic marijuana and abuse of toxic vapors. She was released on a summons.

Steven Morris, 25, of 113 Vista Village Lane, Bayou Vista, was arrested Wednesday at 1:37 p.m. on charges of possession of synthetic marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, abuse of toxic vapors and possession of narcotics in a drug free zone. He was released on $6,500 bond.

Those three arrests were made after a traffic stop for a stop sign violation on Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista.

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests this morning.

Kimberly Bonnette, 24, of 1209 Teche Road, Bayou Vista, was arrested Wednesday at 10:19 a.m. on charges of theft and unauthorized use of an access card. She was released on a summons.

Rosemary N. Jones, 68, of 512 Ibert St., Franklin, was arrested Wednesday at 10:53 a.m. on a warrant charging her with issuing worthless checks. She was released on a summons.

Warren Collins Jr., 72, of 1347 Joseph St., Morgan City, was arrested Wednesday at 11:44 a.m. on a charge of hit and run and was also charged with a warrant on a charge of aggravated incest. No bond was set.

Neile Lorenzo, 37, of 1503 Weber St., Franklin, was arrested Wednesday at 1:54 p.m. on charges of criminal trespassing and failure to appear on a charge of speeding. Lorenzo was released on $1,500 bond.

Victor Jones, 42, of St. Martinville, was arrested Wednesday at 4:04 p.m. on an Iberia Parish warrant charging him with home invasion. No bond was set.

Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the arrest of Lloyd Douglas Smith Jr., 51, of Becnel Street, Franklin, Wednesday at 10:09 p.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear on a charge of criminal neglect of family. He was held on $8,111 bond.

Evan Devaughn Pouncy, 17, of Fournier Street, Franklin, was arrested today at 12:04 a.m. on a charge of carnal knowledge of a juvenile. He was released on $2,500 bond.

Donald Ray Griffin Jr., 48, of St. Joseph Lane, Franklin, was arrested today at 1:13 a.m. on a warrant charging him with failure to appear on charges of possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held on $20,000 bond.
