Taco Bell remains undefeated in Swampland

Taco Bell’s Tim Shelby and Brandon Fryou combined to limit Patterson to a hit as Taco Bell rolled past the visitors 12-1 in five innings Monday.

Shelby pitched three innings and surrendered a hit, three walks and fanned three. In two innings of relief, Fryou surrendered a run on no hits with a walk and three strikeouts as Taco Bell remained undefeated in Swampland play with a 4-0 mark.

At the plate, Austin Spencer led Taco Bell with a 2-for-2 performance with a home run, a double and three RBIs, while Brooks Richard was 2-for-3 and Daniel Gray, 1-for-3 with three RBIs. Other top contributors included Bobby Boudreaux and Braden Billiot, each 1-for-2 with an RBI; and Fryou and Nick Duthu, each 1-for-1 with an RBI.

No statistics were reported by Patterson (1-3).

Berwick and Patterson both will return to action today when they host Bayou Boys (South Lafourche) and Sanders Holdings (Assumption), respectively. Junior varsity play in each game will begin at 5 p.m. and varsity contests will follow at 7 p.m.

Bayou Boys 4

Nick Spinella collected three hits and three RBIs as Skipper’s Sporting Goods (Morgan City) defeated Bayou Boys (South Lafourche) 13-4 Monday in Morgan City for their first Swampland League win.

Spinella finished 3-for-4, while Evan Stadalis was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Other top contributors included C.J. Campbell, 2-for-3, two RBIs; Alex Dunlap, 2-for-2; Philip Hutchinson, 1-for-3, two RBIs; and Grant Perry, 1-for-3, an RBI.

Perry earned the win as he pitched six innings, while Rhett Fryou pitched the seventh.

Skipper’s (1-3) will return to action today when it hosts Jester’s Court (Central Lafourche). Junior varsity action will begin at 5 p.m. followed by varsity play at 7 p.m.

Halimar 8, Terrebonne 1

Stefano Guarisco finished 4-for-5 as Halimar Shipyard (Central Catholic) defeated Terrebonne (Diamondbacks) in Swampland League play Monday in Houma.

Also for the Eagles, Bryson Barbier was 3-for-5; Patrick Barron, 2-for-2; Tyler Hoffpauir, 2-for-3; and Barron Courtney and Matthew Barbier, each 2-for-4.

Bryson Barbier earned the win as he pitched three innings and surrendered a hit, three walks and fanned four.

In relief, Hoffpauir pitched two innings and walked one and struck out two.

Halimar (3-1) will return to action today when it travels to face Reeco Rental (Thibodaux). Junior varsity action will begin at 5 p.m., with varsity play to follow at 7 p.m.
