Taco Bell, Halimar win
BERWICK — Taco Bell (Berwick) shutout Robichaux Ford (Vandebilt Catholic) 3-0 in Swampland League action Monday.
Tim Shelby earned the win for Taco Bell (5-1) as he surrendered five hits, two walks and fanned seven in 5.2 innings of work.
Nick Duthu earned the save as he pitched 1.1 innings of no-hit ball with two walks and three strikeouts.
At the plate, Shelby finished 2-for-2 with an RBI, while Brooks Richard was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Daniel Gray was 1-for-2 with a double, while Braden Billiot was 1-for-1 and Bobby Boudreaux, 1-for-3.
In junior varsity action Monday, Robichaux Ford defeated Taco Bell, 5-1.
Andrew Askew suffered the loss for Taco Bell. In 2.2 innings, he surrendered two earned runs on five hits with three walks, one hit batsman and fanned two.
Ty Duthu led Taco Bell at the plate with a walk and a run. Taco Bell was no-hit during the junior varsity contest.
Taco Bell will return to action today when it travels to face Reeco Rental (Thibodaux). Junior varsity action will begin at 5 p.m. with varsity action to follow at 7 p.m.

Sanders Holdings 2
Samuel Guarisco tossed a complete-game three-hitter as Halimar Shipyard (Central Catholic) defeated Sanders Holdings (Assumption) in Amelia Monday.
In seven innings of work, Guarisco surrendered two unearned runs on three hits with a walk and six strikeouts.
“Samuel was, once again, really good on the mound,” Halimar Shipyard coach Tyler Jensen said. “I thought we were sloppy on defense and didn't have our best effort at the plate. We left too many people on base, especially early. It was good to see us battle and find a way to be successful even without playing our best."
At the plate for Halimar Shipyard, Guarisco finished 1-for-2 with a run scored. Other top contributors included Bryson Barbier, 1-for-4 with a run scored; TJ Ruffin, 1-for-2; and Nick Case, an RBI.
Halimar Shipyard (5-2) will return to action today when it faces Skipper’s Sporting Goods (Morgan City) at Tiger Diamond. Junior varsity action will begin at 5 p.m. with varsity action to follow at 7 p.m.
Also today, Patterson will travel to Houma to take on Diamondbacks (Terrebonne). Junior varsity action is set for 5 p.m. start with varsity to follow at 7 p.m.
Patterson’s game against Golden Motors Bayou Boys (South Lafourche), which was rained out Monday, will be made up Wednesday in Patterson.
The Patterson varsity contest will follow a 3 p.m. varsity contest at Patterson between Halimar Shipyard and Golden Motors Bayou Boys. That contest is a make-up game of Halimar Shipyard’s season and home opener, which was postponed due to field damage at Halimar’s field in late May due to severe weather.
