Summer Reading Program kicks off
Milan Haydel, top, closely inspects a bubble gum container to guess the number inside as part of kick-off activities for the Franklin Library’s Summer Reading Program on Monday. Below, Evan, Brooke and Hannah Dumesnil proudly display craftwork on their kids’ construction hats at the Opening Day of the 2013 Summer program, themed “Dig Into Reading.” Children from pre-K to high school can earn prizes and awards by submitting the number of minutes they spend reading this summer. The program features crafts, snacks, movies and professional performances throughout the weeks until closing day on July 11, with the Grand Finale Game Day for Franklin’s Main Branch Library scheduled on July 24.
