Morgan City apartment fire (Updated)

MORGAN CITY — A late morning fire damaged two units at the Villa Apartments in Morgan City, according to witnesses.
Resident Zach Dauzat confirmed that two apartments were damaged.
Dauzat had no idea what caused the fire. Dauzat said he was in the shower when he noticed the roof was on fire and it was spreading. He was able to get out unharmed, and the fire department arrived shortly after, he said.
All Morgan City fire personnel were called to the 11:30 a.m. fire. Within 15 minutes, the smoke had slowed, witnesses said.
Dauzat said no one was injured in the fire. Fire personnel still were on scene at noon.
