St. Mary Parish Foundation to award grants
LAFAYETTE — Applications are available for the St. Mary Parish Foundation’s competitive grant cycle. This cycle is open to all public, private and charter schools domiciled in St. Mary Parish. In response to St. Mary Parish Public Schools’ music and arts education needs, this grant cycle will award a total of $10,000 to schools presenting the most innovative projects to promote music and arts culture in schools.
The funds for this grant cycle were raised by the St. Mary Parish Foundation’s board of directors through a gala at former Louisiana Gov. Mike Foster’s home in 2011 and a raffle in 2012.
St. Mary Parish Foundation board chairman Donna Tesi said, “Our board of directors has worked tirelessly to raise money to support music and arts education in our schools and the community has been extremely supportive. We are very excited to be able to make these much needed grants.”
Those meeting the criteria may go online to www.cfacadiana.org/SMPFGrant to download the application guidance or for more information. Applications are due by noon, March 1.
