Doiron wins state gymnastics championship

Molly Doiron, 9, of Stephensville, won the state championship in Level 1 Division K at the Louisiana Lower State Championships April 2 at the Alario Center in Westwego. Doiron recorded an all-around score of 38.475. The first-year performer placed first in all four events she competed, capturing the vault in 9.4, the bars in 9.75, the beam in 9.65 and the floor exercise in 9.675. Berwick upset 5A's top team, Lafayette High

The Berwick High School baseball team scored a huge upset Tuesday as it defeated Class 5A’s top-ranked team, Lafayette High, 5-4, in nondistrict action in Lafayette.
