St. Mary Golf & Country Club holds a nine-hole scramble tournament every Wednesday during the summer. At the end of the summer, a scramble championship is held. Competitors qualifyfor the championship by winning one

Berwick-Bayou Vista Flag Football winners

Berwick-Bayou Vista's Flag Football League held closing ceremonies Thursday at the Berwick Civic Complex. The League's Super Bowl champs were the Tigers, who finished with an 11-0 mark. Team members include Daniel Vasquez, Madox Carline,

CCHS tops Westminster Christian Academy for semifinal berth

Central Catholic High School sophomore quarterback DeDe Gant runs for a 12-yard gain during the Eagles' Division IV quarterfinal contest against Westminster Christian Academy in Morgan City Friday. Gant, along with senior Samarick Paul, filled in for
injured senior starting quarterback Blake Byrne in the Eagles' 42-27 victory. Central Catholic will advance to the semifinals where it will travel to Youngsville to face top seed and undefeated Ascension Episcopal Friday at 7 p.m. The Blue Gators
advanced to the semifinals after defeating St. Frederick, 58-35, in other quarterfinal action. This will be the second meeting of the teams this season as Ascension Episcopal edged Central Catholic, 42-41, in week 10. (The Daily Review/Geoff Stoute)
