Morgan City women’s bowling association awards given

The Morgan City United States Bowling Congress Women’s Bowling Association held a ceremony, honoring its award winners.
Winners from the group’s City Bowling Tournament, held March 15-16, were honored.
The first-place team at the city tournament was Duke’s Lounge, which bowled a 2,657. Team members included DaJennea Stevenson, Michele LaCombe, Jamie Granger and Jennifer Vu.
The first-place doubles team consisted of Stevenson and Vu, who teamed for a 1,301.
In singles’ action, Vu took first place with a 710.
In the All-Events Scratch category, LaCombe was tops with a 1,853, while in the All-Events Handicapped, Vu took top honors with a 2,091.
Rosie Fournier had the high game at 250, while LaCombe had the high series at 670.
Other team awards for the tournament included second-place, Mary’s Hair Care with a 2,597. The team consisted of Nedia Arcemont, Janna Landetta, Liz Baytop and Kay Buck.
Third-place was Spare No One with a 2,536. The team included Gretchen Corbin, Hattie Lawton, Jennifer Gros and Candace Dinger.
Fourth place was the Pace Setters with a 2,481. The team included Shirley Barras, Dolores LaJaunie, Lena Mayon and Amy Aucoin.
Other doubles’ teams at the city tournament included second-place, Barbara LaCoste and Angela Fields with a 1,288; Maria Russo and Becky Wiggins with a 1,281; and Judi Blood and Fournier with a 1,262.
Other Singles’ award winners included Russo with a 693, Wiggins with a 690, Blood, 647; Granger, 642; Christine Bergeron, 640; Rhonda Mello, 633; and Fields, 630.
Second- and third-place in the All-Events Scratch went to Vu and Fields with a 1,758 and 1,744, respectively.
Second- and third-place in the All-Events Handicapped were Russo with a 1,983 and Wiggins with a 1,974.
Those bowling 200 games at the city tournament were Fields (206, 220 and 234), Pam Hensgens (215, 224, 220 and 203), Vu (205, 213, 234, 208, 232), LaCombe (223, 209, 238, 224, 221, 217), Fournier (250, 237), Hattie Lawton (202), Lona Thourot (221, 207), Stevenson (201, 213), Cathy Daigle (203), Gretchen Corbin (209, 202) and Granger (205).
Those recording 600 series included LaCombe (670 and 628), Fields (613) and Vu (607).
