CCHS falls in state semifinals

KENNER -- Central Catholic fell to four-time defending champion and Division 5 top seed Country Day this morning 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-20) in the Division 5 semifinals.

The Lady Eagles, the No. 4 seed, conclude their season with a 29-14 mark, while Country Day improves to 38-4. Country Day now advances to Saturday's Division 5 final, set for 11 a.m. where it will face No. 2 seed Episcopal School of Acadiana, who defeated No. 3 seed Ascension Episcopal 3-1 (25-14, 19-25, 25-23, 25-21) in Friday morning's other semifinal.

Friday's loss was the fourth consecutive time Central Catholic has fallen in the semifinals.
