Softball teams to continue play
Local softball teams will continue play in the Babe Ruth Southwest Regional Tournament in Houma, which will include warmup games on Wednesday before bracket play begins Thursday.
Patterson 8U, 10U and 12U teams will participate as well as Morgan City’s 8U squad.
In 8U action Wednesday, Patterson will play at 9 a.m. against Poplarville, while Morgan City will face Plaquemine at 10:15 a.m.
At 12:45 p.m., Morgan City will face Saucier, while at 5:15 p.m., Morgan City will meet Patterson.
These 8U games will be played at Westside Girls Softball Complex.
Patterson’s 10U squad will play at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday against St. Charles, while at 7:45 p.m., they will face Westside.
Both games will be played at Broadmoor Complex Field.
In 12U action, Patterson will play St. Charles at 2:45 p.m. and a Kansas team will play at 7:45 p.m.
These games also will play at Westside Girls Softball Complex.
When bracket play begins Thursday, 8U action will include Morgan City facing Lafayette County at 11 a.m., while Patterson will play Terrebonne at 3 p.m. Both games will be played at Westside Girls Softball Complex.
In 10U bracket play Thursday, Patterson will face the winner of the Terrebonne/Cotulla, Texas, matchup at 9 p.m. Thursday at Broadmoor Fields
In 12U action, Patterson will begin play against Hamburg, Ark. The game will be played at Westside Girls Softball Complex.
All four local squads competed in the Babe Ruth Softball State Tournament earlier this summer with Patterson’s 8s recording the best mark with a 3-2 finish.
