Sobriety checkpoint planned in Patterson
PATTERSON — Police will conduct an impaired driver checkpoint at an undisclosed location within the City of Patterson from 10 p.m. Aug. 23 and 2 a.m. Aug. 24.
All drivers traveling through the checkpoint will be screened for alcohol and drug impairment. Any impaired drivers will be removed from the roadway, Chief Patrick LaSalle said.
The purpose of the checkpoint is to reduce the number of deadly crashes and those causing serious injuries, to keep impaired drivers off roadways, and to inform the public of the dangers of driving while impaired, the chief said.
