Sheldon M. Ledet
Sheldon M. Ledet, 74, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012.
Sheldon will be remembered, cherished and missed. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of several local community organizations throughout his life. His service to his country and community continued with countless hours of volunteer work during times of disaster, aid to those in need, as well as to our military when our national guard was mobilized.
Sheldon was a dedicated and valued member of the business community for more than four decades. During such time, not only did he help enrich the lives of his customers through personal customer service, but also had his hand on the pulse of Morgan City and did what he could to make the town a better place to live.
He will be deeply missed by his many friends and relatives alike. His infectious and charismatic laugh will endure forever in the hearts, minds, and memories of all who knew him. He enjoyed his work, loved his customers, and cherished every moment he was able to share with all.
He was a devoted and dedicated father and husband. He understood the value of family, sacrifice, forgiveness, love, and hope. He instilled those values in his family. He was a man of conviction and integrity only wanting to do what was right and good. He believed in tradition and value and lived by these codes. He was a true fighter all the way to the end. A true son of God by action, thought, and word.
Survivors include his ever beloved Marie, who brought much joy and laughter to his life; three children, Dawn L. Ladner and husband Phil of Trinidad, Colo., Freddie P. Ledet II of Morgan City, and Phillip K. Ledet and wife Tammy of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Ashley N. Whitewing, Jeramy M. LeCompte and wife Kori, Blain M.
