School Board to hear ‘wish lists’
All three St. Mary Parish School Board maintenance districts will meet this week to hear school “wish lists” in advance of upcoming budget negotiations.
Wish lists for maintenance or capital projects are submitted by each principal and weeded through during these meetings.
District I (Franklin area) meets Tuesday at 2 p.m. District III (Morgan City area) follows them at 4:30 p.m. the same day.
District II (Berwick-Bayou Vista-Centerville) meets Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
All three meetings will be held at the Central Office Complex in Centerville and are open to the public.
They precede the monthly meeting of the full board Thursday at 5 p.m.
On the agenda is a request to call a special election in Fifth Ward Special School District 1 (Patterson) to issue bonds to build a new school for Patterson Junior High.
Also on the agenda are presentation of the principals of the year, top Word Millionaires and Red Ribbon slogan and drawing contest winners.
Consideration of amending the end of school year schedule will be discussed as well.
The meeting begins at 5 p.m. at the Central Office Complex and is open to the public.
