Sarah Baham Perry

OPELOUSAS — Visiting and funeral services for Sarah Baham Perry will be held in the LaFond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, March 28, 2013, from 9 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m.

Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.

The Rev. Perry Hubbs will conduct the service.

Mrs. Perry, 93, died on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Prompt Succor Nursing Home. She was born in Melville and was a lifelong resident of Opelousas.

Mrs. Perry was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a woman of faith and the eldest member of the First Baptist Church of Opelousas. Sarah managed Betty Lee’s shoe store in downtown Opelousas for many years.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Perry of Morgan City and Ronald Perry and his wife, Darlene, of Opelousas; daughter, Mary Ann Doucet and her husband, Darrell, of Opelousas; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A.J. “Toby” Perry; parents, Matthew and Lula Frith Baham; an infant daughter, Penny Perry; brothers, Robert Baham, William Baham and Leroy Baham; and a sister, Ella Mae Perry.

The family would like to recognize and thank the staff of Prompt Succor Nursing Home and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care for their care and support of Mrs. Perry.
