Ron Gibson, 58, formerly of Morgan City and a resident of Houston, passed away June 7, 2012, of natural causes.
Ron was born in Oceanside, Calif., on Feb. 10, 1954. He completed high school and served his country in the U.S. Army. Ron met and fell in love with Aggie Gibson in 1975; they were happily married for 37 years.
Ron worked in sales and transportation before his illness prevented him from working. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing, and in his younger years played community softball. He also enjoyed spinning tall tales, entertaining friends on the back porch and spoiling his grandkids. He also was actively involved in increasing and maintaining the profit margin of the Schlitz Brewing Co. of Milwaukee, Wis.
Ron is survived by his wife, Aggie Gibson; his son, Jason Gibson; daughter-in-law, Corliss Gibson; grandchildren, Connor Gibson and Claire Gibson; daughter, Jessica Neibch; son-in-law, Roger Neibch; grandchildren, Mina Gibson and Xandria Chrisman; mother-in-law, Julia Ditch of Morgan City; brother-in-law, Mike Ditch and his wife Jaye Ditch; sisters-in-law, Scarlet Gage of Morgan City and Julia Falgout and her husband Kirk Falgout of Morgan City; and numerous other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Homer McVay; grandmother, Velma McVay; father, Don Gibson; mother, Beth VanLandingham; sister, Debbie Davidson; father-in-law, Warren Ditch; three brothers-in-law, Lee Ditch, David Ditch and Larry Ditch; and a sister-in-law, Alice Ditch.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Schlitz Brewing Co., Milwaukee, Wis.
