Roan, Willoughby named Easton All-Americans

THIBODAUX – The awards continue to pile in for Nicholls State University softball player Ashley Ray as the junior third baseman was named 2011 Easton All-American third-team, announced Easton Sports, Inc. on Wednesday.

Athletes selected to the Easton All-American teams are those who have had an outstanding season and are from pro-grams that represent the Easton brand.

In her first season with the Colonels, Ray was among the nation’s best hitters as she finished with a .369 batting average while ranking 12th in the NCAA with 17 home runs and was 46th with 51 RBIs. In seven games against teams ranked in the Top 25, she hit .400 with four homers and eight RBIs.

Along with garnering Easton All-American, Ray was named Southland Conference Player and Newcomer of the Year, first-team All-Louisiana and second-team NFCA All-South Region.
