Reese's edges Borden's 6-5 in youth softball action

Nyla Morse was perfect at the plate with a triple as Reese’s edged Borden’s 6-5 in Morgan City Recreation Department youth softball action Thursday at Shaw Park in Morgan City.

Morse finished 4-for-4 and scored two runs.

Other top contributors for Reese’s included Lacey Guagliardo, 3-for-4 with a double and two runs; and Amaya Williams, 3-for-4 with two runs.

For Borden’s, Olivia Black and Sarah David each were 4-for-4, with Black adding a double and three runs, while Haley Cavalier was 3-for-3 with a double and two runs.

Red Hots 10,

Sweet Tarts 9

Terre’yan Johnson finished 2-for-2 with a home run and two runs as the Red Hots edged the Sweet Tarts 10-9 in Thursday action at Shaw Park.

Emily Adams, Paytin Taylor and Hailey Fontenot all finished 2-for-2 in the win, with Adams and Taylor each scoring a run and Fontenot, two runs.

Madalyn Hebert led Sweet Tarts with a 2-for-3 performance with a double and two runs, while Madison Williams was 1-for-2 with a run.

Candy Fleet 9,

Borden’s 3

Hallie Crappell and Maddie Sons each finished 5-for-5 for Candy Fleet in their win Wednesday at Shaw Park.

Crappell scored three runs in the contest.

Sabrina Maison finished 4-for-4 with two runs for Candy Fleet in the win.

Olivia Black and Sarah David each were 3-for-3 for Borden’s, with Black scoring two runs and David a run.

Snickers 12,

Sweet Tarts 4

Snickers defeated Sweet Tarts in youth softball action at Shaw Park Wednesday.

Hannah LaCoste was 1-for-1 with two walks and a run, while Adrianna Dupuis and Haylie Crappell each were 1-for-2, with a walk. Dupuis scored three runs and Crappell, a run.

Julianna Hernandez and Key’ala Hawkins each finished 1-for-2 for Sweet Tarts.

Reese’s 5,

Candy Fleet 2

Morse scored two runs, while Williams added a run.

Lacey Guagliardo finished 2-for-3 with a run in the win.

For Candy Fleet, Hallie Crappell was 3-for-3 with a run, while Maddie Sons was 2-for-3.

Red Hots 6

Snickers defeated Red Hots in local softball action Tuesday at Shaw Park.

Mary Frances Vincent and Haylie Crappell each finished 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs in the win, while Brynn Stephens was 1-for-1 with a double, two walks and two runs.

Jamia Francois led Red Hots with a 2-for-2 performance with a double and a run, while Terre’yan Johnson and Sophia Landry each were 1-for-1 with a walk.
