PC to hear golf course report

Members of the St. Mary Parish Council are slated to hear the annual report on the Atchafalaya Golf Course when they meet in regular session Wednesday.

Golf commission chairman Rudy Sparks will present the proposed annual budget and greens fee schedule for the upcoming fiscal year.

Other guests on the agenda include Gary J. Louviere to discuss mobile home requirements; Mac Wade, executive director of the Port of Morgan City; Gayle Domingue to discuss drainage and grass issues.

Up for adoption is a proposed ordinance amending the current fiscal year budget. A public hearing will be called at 5:45 p.m.

An ordinance to be introduced would authorize execution of a temporary easement, servitude and right-of-way agreement with St. Mary Energy LLC in connection with the Point Chevreuil Shoreline Protection Project.

Resolutions on the agenda include two dealing with designation of zones in the Enterprise Zone Program; an agreement with the Department of Transportation and Development on runway approach obstructions at Harry P. Williams Memorial Airport; and approval for the Industrial Development Board to issue up to $2 million in revenue bonds for the Charenton Canal LLC project.

Under new business, Council Glen Hidalgo of Bayou Vista is requesting transfer of $10,000 in Wars 5 & 8 three-tenths sales tax funds to Fire District 7 for improvements to the interior of the Saturn Street Fire Station.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. on the fifth floor of the courthouse in Franklin.
