Patterson woman beaten
PATTERSON, La. A 36-year-old Franklin man was arrested Thursday on a warrant for second degree battery after he hit a Patterson woman with his hand repeatedly, breaking bones in her face, and on warrants for 40 counts of issuing worthless checks, a news release from St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert stated.
Moises Felipe Stratton, 36, of Parish Road in Franklin, was arrested at 11:10 a.m. on a warrant for second degree battery and on warrants for 40 counts of issuing worthless checks.
Stratton was located and taken into custody at a business on La. 317. The warrant for second degree battery stems from an investigation into a complaint of a battery received on July 6, Hebert stated.
The battery occurred at a residence in the Patterson area. The deputy learned that Stratton repeatedly struck a woman with his hand breaking bones in her face.
At the time of the incident, the victim was taken to Teche Regional Medical Center for treatment, Hebert stated.
Stratton was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail is set.
