Patterson man batters officer
A parish deputy arrested a Patterson man Tuesday for battering a police officer and resisting arrest.
Albert T. Hebert Jr., 47, of Watson Lane, Patterson, was arrested at his home at 2:06 p.m. Tuesday for driving under suspension, two counts battery of a police officer, resisting an officer with force or violence, and attempting to disarm a peace officer.
Hebert is alleged to have caused a disturbance at a lounge in Bayou Vista and was located at his residence. He emerged from the home after several attempts by the deputy to raise him, and he then pushed and yelled at the deputy.
During the deputy’s attempt to arrest the suspect, Hebert attempted to disarm the deputy. Following a brief scuffle, Hebert was subdued and placed under arrest.
He was transported to the parish jail, where he remains with no bond set.
The sheriff’s office also reported the following arrests during the past two days, according to Sheriff Mark Hebert:
—Catherine L. Crockett, 21, of Utah Street, Berwick, arrested on at 7:01 p.m. Wednesday at Walmart in Bayou Vista for theft of goods. She was observed by store security concealing items in a back pack and pocket. Issued a summons to appear in court on Oct. 7.
—Michael Baker, 39, of Walnut Drive, Morgan City, arrested at 1:53 a.m. today on La. 182 near Industry Road for driving while intoxicated first offense, general speed law, and improper lane usage. Booked and incarcerated with no bond set.
The Patterson Police Department made the following arrests overnight, according to Chief Patrick M. LaSalle:
—Gene J. Turner, 44, of Bayou Road, Thibodaux, arrested on Gerami Drive in Patterson 10:25 p.m. Wednesday for driving while intoxicated first offense, speeding, and failure to signal left turn. Remains incarcerated awaiting bond.
—Leah M. Owens, 34, of Levee Road, Morgan City, arrested on Martin Luther King Street in Patterson at 6:24 p.m. Wednesday for careless operation and driving under suspension. Released upon payment of a $554 cash bond.
The Morgan City Police Department made seven arrests over the last two days, according to Chief Marc Folse, and five of the seven arrests were of people not from the area.
—Mark A. Rentrop, 20, of Hwy 663, Morgan City, arrested at MCPD headquarters at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant for violation of city court probation. Released on payment of a $175 bond.
—Dean Falgout, 38, of Hospital Drive, Raceland, arrested on Vine Drive in Morgan City at 3:08 a.m. Wednesday and charged with disturbing the peace and threatening bodily harm to a public official. Booked into city jail with no bond set.
—Osman S. Castillo, 46, of Everett Street, Morgan City, arrested on La. 182 at David Drive at 4:06 a.m. Wednesday for driving while intoxicated first offense, no driver’s license, and improper lane usage. Booked into city jail and still incarcerated with bond not set.
—Charles V. Brown, 28, of Curtis Road, Opelousas, arrested at the city jail after turning himself in on warrants for failure to appear for trial for theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting an officer. No bond information given.
—Byron J. Williams, 23, of Memory Street, Houma, arrested near the intersection of La. 70 and Victor II Boulevard at 2:03 p.m. Wednesday for disobeying police barricades, resisting an officer, battery on a police officer, and possession of marijuana. Released on payment of a $2,775 bond.
—Jaida R. Singleton, 31, of 13th Street, Thibodaux, and Courtney S. Johnson of Hwy 316, Gray, arrested at Lake End Park at 2:57 p.m. Wednesday and charged with disturbing the peace by fighting. Both released on payment of a $485 bond.
