Patterson Council meets tonight
The Patterson City Council meeting Tuesday will be preceded by a public hearing on three ordinances governing financial matters.
Those ordinances, which are expected to be approved during the regular council meeting, include one providing for the incurring of debt and issuance of $5 million in general obligation bonds. The other two ordinances allow for levying a general alimony tax millage and a public improvement tax millage for 2012.
Other action on Tuesday’s agenda includes:
—A permit request from Lawrence J. Johnson for Class A and Class C liquor permits at 305 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Patterson.
—Introduction of ordinance and/or adoption of a resolution providing for a farmers’ market in the city.
—Introduction of an ordinance authorizing sale of properties adjudicated to the city.
—Consideration of a resolution naming a portion of boat landing property as “Claire’s Garden” or as otherwise deemed appropriate in honor of deceased Councilman Claire Sawyer.
—Resolution authorizing an intergovernmental agreement with the school board for use of city property by students in agricultural studies.
—A discussion of video cameras in business places by the police chief.
The public hearings and meeting begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday at city hall and are open to the public.
