Parking recommendations issued for weekend events
By: From Staff Reports
The Morgan City Recreation Department has issued parking tips for those attending the city’s youth baseball league’s opening ceremonies at Complex Park, the Morgan City Adult/Junior Combo tennis tournament at the city’s tennis courts and the Tarzan Lord of the Louisiana Jungle Festival at the Municipal Auditorium.
Patrons attending any of these events are encouraged to park either in areas around the swimming pool, at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium or in an additional area designated between the city’s swimming complex and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Signs will be posted marking this designated area.
For youth baseball opening ceremonies, which will be held for those ages 7-12, patrons are encouraged not to park in the First Baptist Church parking lot across Victor II Boulevard from Complex Park because they are no longer able to enter the park from the Victor II Boulevard side, which has been closed in with the construction of the new Cypress Park adjacent to Complex Park.
Now, patrons must enter Complex Park on the opposite end of the field near the right field fence.
