Parish council meets Wednesday
The St. Mary Parish Council will meet in regular session Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Items on the agenda include:
—Introduction of an ordinance establishing speed limits on Joel Boulevard, JA-MAR Road and Victorine Drive.
—Resolutions calling for an election on Nov. 6 and the issuance of a $1.3 general obligation refunding bond in Recreation District 5.
—A Resolution approving the HUD Section 8 Program’s 5-year plan through 2014 and 2012 annual plan.
—A resolution authorizing participation in the Quality Jobs Program by Oceaneering International Inc.
—A resolution authorizing execution of a contract with the state on construction of a chlorine storage facility by Water and Sewer Commission 4.
—Resolutions giving preliminary approval to issue up to $2.4 million in revenue refunding bonds; and $4.2 million in sewerage sales tax refunding bonds.
—Resolutions on a change order and notice of substantial completion on Thorguson Road project.
—Consideration of a $120,000 allocation to the City of Franklin toward sewer lift station upgrades totaling $450,000.
—A request from the Morgan City Power Boat Association for a $4,000 allocation to help fund the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the “Waves of Thunder” outboard races and outdoor festival.
—A request by Councilman Albert Foulcard (at-large District 9 D) to allocate $1,000 from the Gaming Fund to Community Action Agency to assist with a luncheon for veteran and senior citizens on Nov. 9.
—Consideration of appointments to various boards and commissions.
The meeting will be held on the fifth floor of the Courthouse in Franklin and is open to the public.
