Parish council meets Wednesday

Members of the St. Mary Parish Council will meet in regular session Wednesday.

Resolutions up for consideration include a permit renewal application on the Harold J. “Babe” Landry Landfill and support for Senate Bill 532 related to ground water use from the Chicot Aquifer.

Other items on the agenda include:

—Approval of recommendations by the Planning & Zoning Commission that include subdivisions of property into two tracts by Michael Champagne of Medric Martin estate property at 2516 Irish Bend Road, Franklin; and by Nicky Begnaud at 138 Peninsula Drive, Cypremort Point.

—A request by Councilman David Hanagriff, District 3, to transfer $3,500 in three-tenths sales collections from Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 and 10 to the City of Franklin for Dixie Youth Baseball.

—A request to reinstate funding assistance to the St. Mary Soil and Water Conservation District.

—Various appointments to boards and commissions.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. on the fifth floor of the courthouse in Franklin and is open to the public.
