Parish council meets Wednesday

A long list of resolutions awaits St. Mary Parish councilmen when they meet in regular session Wednesday.

Those resolutions up for passage include:

—Award of a contract on rehabilitation of the taxiway lighting system at Harry P. Williams Memorial Airport in Patterson.

—Cooperative endeavor agreements with the Department of Economic Development relative to site studies and Phase I environmental assessments of 109 acres at the Harry P. Williams Memorial Airport and 265 acres at the Clausen/Boudreaux Estate for preparation of the sites for LED certification as industrial sites. (Adm.)

—A request to the Department of Transportation and Development to install lighting on the elevated portion of U.S. 90 from Martin Luther King Boulevard in Morgan City east bound to the area where highway becomes level with the ground.

—A change order with C-Co Mechanical LLC and notice of substantial completion on the courthouse chiller replacement project. (Adm.)

—An agreement with Professional Debris Removal Services.

—A memorandum of understanding with the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness relative to Mississippi River flooding disaster grants.

—Authorization to execute a litigation agreement with the state relative to civil litigation concerning the BP oil spill.

—A request to state and the Federal Aviation Administration to upgrade the weather observation station Harry P. Williams Memorial Airport.

An ordinance set to be introduced would authorize a right-of-way agreement with St. Mary Holdings LLC.

The council also is expected to approve the annual budget and greens fee rates as presented during its last meeting by the Atchafalaya Golf Course Commission.

Also on the agenda are guests representing the 4-H club requesting a proclamation observing Oct. 2-8 as National 4-H Week.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. on the fifth floor of the courthouse in Franklin and is open to the public.
