Parish council meets Wednesday

Members of the St. Mary Parish Council will meet in regular session Wednesday.

Items on the agenda include:

—Guest appearances by Rudy Sparks of the Atchafalaya Golf Course Commission to present the annual budget and rate schedule; Fire Chief Clarence Clark of Fire Protection District 11 to request a resolution authorizing St. Mary Parish Fire Protection District 11 Fire Department as the authorized fire agency for the district; and Richard LeGrier III of Louisiana Circles to request a $20,000 contribution to sustain its nonprofit work.

—Introduction of ordinances on a cooperative endeavor agreement with Water and Sewer Commission 1; and the issuance of a $600,000 certificate of indebtedness.

—Consideration of proposed ordinances authorizing a right-of-way agreement with the City of Franklin on the Bayou Yokely improvement project; amending the current fiscal year budget; acquisition of properties related to the Industrial Road project in Morgan City; a servitude agreement with BellSouth Telecommunications; a zoning map amendment; and designation of a polling place for Precinct 12.

—Resolutions on an agreement with Archon Information Systems LLC; and setting the annual solid waste tipping fees.

—Appointment to various boards and commissions.

—Consideration of annual financial allocations.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. after a public hearing at 5:45 p.m. on the proposed ordinances. Both are held on the fifth floor of the Courthouse in Franklin.
