One injured in Iberia St. wreck

First responders from the Franklin Fire Department were dispatched at 2:52 p.m. Monday to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Iberia and Barrow Streets on the report of a flipped vehicle with the occupant trapped inside, according to reports from the FFD.

The department responded with a pumper and rescue unit and six personnel.

First arriving units confirmed the accident and bystanders had assisted in removing the lone occupant Raymond McGoff, 55, of 1002 Iberia St., Franklin.

McGoff’s Ford Explorer was reportedly traveling south on Barrow Street when it failed to stop at the intersection, traveled across Iberia and struck a large elm tree. The front tire of the vehicle was ripped off and the vehicle overturned onto its side.

McGoff was treated for moderate injuries at the scene by fire department medics and was later transported to Franklin Foundation Hospital by Acadian Ambulance.

Fire department personnel remained on scene assisting in the removal of the vehicle and assisting Franklin PD with traffic control.

Charges are pending completion of an investigation being conducted by the FPD.
