Offices added to downtown district
MORGAN CITY, La. — The planning and zoning commission recommended the City Council approve H&B Young Foundation’s request to amend the district and land use regulations for the city’s General Plaza district, said Rhonda Comeaux of the Morgan City planning and zoning office.
If the council approves the request, the General Plaza district will add the description “Business and Professional Offices” to the uses permitted section of the district’s regulations.
Right now, the General Plaza district, which extends along First Street, Brashear Avenue and Third Street among other streets, allows for apartment houses for single-family occupancy per apartment, restaurants, barbershops, drugstores just to name a few of the permitted uses.
