A devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, Ray’s quiet disposition and easy smile made everyone around him feel individually special.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Torry Fontenot of Tate Cove; his precious daughter, Mallory Dylane Landry of Opelousas; and he was also a loving stepfather to Gannon Deshotels and Kelsey D. Brown and her husband, Derek, both of Tate Cove. Ray will be deeply mourned by his father, Raymond C. Landry of Morgan City; and his siblings and in-laws, including his mother-in-law, Mary Nell Fontenot of Mamou; his two sisters, Ellen Romero and her husband, Martin, and Wanda Plaisance and her husband, Daryl, both of Morgan City; his two brothers-in-law, Dr. John Phil Fontenot and his wife, Hollye, of Opelousas and Jean Batiste Fontenot and his wife, Penny, of San Antonio; and his two sisters-in-law, Penny McDaniel and her husband, Steve, of Tate Cove and Rachel Manuel and her husband, Scott, of Mamou. His memory will be carried on by his numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.
Ray was a highly respected employee of Cameron Industries for 38 years. Over those many years he built and nurtured a myriad of close relationships with his fellow employees. His vast knowledge and easy disposition made him a favorite, a “go to guy,” who gladly gave of his own time and expertise no matter what the situation. Ray’s loss will be felt deeply by many.
Ray will now reunite in Heaven with his beloved son, Kyle David Landry; his mother, Joyce Templet Landry; and a brother, Alvin David Landry. They await his arrival with open arms and joyous hearts; their reunion will surely be a blissful occasion.
