MARY LOUISE PETERSON LANIE

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia for Mary Louise Peterson Lanie who passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at 9:46 p.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Deacon Theo Landry will officiate the service. A gathering of family, friends and all who cared for her will be held at St. Nicholas Church Hall immediately following the memorial.
Mary Louise was a native of Franklin and a longtime resident of Patoutville. In her early years she worked at various area sugar mills as a bookkeeper. The family would like to thank all of her friends who continually called her to check up on her or just to keep in touch.
Survivors include four children, Paula Huckaby and her husband, Brian, of Addis; Suzanne Fortier and her husband, Michel, of Patoutville; Virgil L. Lanie Jr. and his wife, Revah, of Patoutville; and Wilfrid “Will” Lanie of Cade; three grandchildren, Lyndi Lanie, Rhett Lanie and Jean Michael Huckaby; one great grandchild, Nixon Bulliard; one sister, Geraldine Savoie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Virgil L. Lanie Sr.; her second husband, Ernest “Jack” Bernard; and her parents, Gerald and Earline Peterson.
