Mary Bella Gibson

Mary Bella Gibson, 91, a resident of Morgan City, passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at Morgan City Healthcare Center surrounded by her loving family.
Bella was born on March 13, 1922, in Morgan City, the daughter of Etienne Delaune and Clonise Callahan Delaune.
Bella loved spending time with her family, but especially loved cutting up with her grandchildren. She loved being in the outdoors especially when she was fishing, which she loved to do. She was the owner and operator of the first beauty shop in Pierre Part, also owning and operating one in Morgan City. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by four children, Charles Gibson Jr. and wife, Magdalen, of Morgan City, Addie Mulholland and husband, John, of Brandon, Miss., Nancy Metrejean of Morgan City, and Dewey Gibson of Bay Town, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles C. Gibson; one son, Henry Gibson; three brothers, Dewy Delaune, Claude Delaune and Guy Delaune; and two sisters, Bessie Angeron and Alice Webb.
A memorial visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Twin City Funeral Home with a memorial service being held at noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Bella’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
