Johnell Jackson, 83, a native of Four Corners, and a resident of Baldwin, died Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 12:12 p.m., at Iberia General in New Iberia.
Mr. Jackson was employed and retired as a heavy equipment operator for Morton Salt & Chemical.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 24, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baldwin, from 9 a.m. until the beginning of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with a rosary being recited at 10:30 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the services in the Sorrel Community Cemetery.
Mr. Jackson leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Mary Nell Connor-Jackson of Baldwin; five sons, Larry J. Jackson (Debra) of New Iberia, Michael W. Jackson (Su) of Stuttgart, Germany, Russell Alexis of Abbeville, Lance Washington and Jarrod Washington, both of New Iberia.; three daughters, Mrs. Percy (Janice J.) Key of Jeanerette, Catherine Charles and Sharetka Polidore, both of Four Corners; one brother, Paulfrey J. Jackson (Leona) of Four Corners; 18 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, one daughter, four brothers and three sisters.
